The Ignacio Echeverría Skatepark, in Huerta Julián Park, will host the second edition of the 'Rincón Rampage' International Skate Open on Saturday, September 26, with €4,000 in cash prizes and over €1,000 in materials. The competition, running from 11:00 to 21:00, includes Street and Bowl categories with free registration.
The Ignacio Echeverría Skatepark, in Huerta Julián Park in Rincón de la Victoria, celebrates the second edition of the 'Rincón Rampage' International Skate Open this Saturday September 26. The event will bring together riders of various levels and ages in a single Open category, with competitions in Street and Bowl.
The event distributes €4,000 in cash prizes, along with over €1,000 in materials for participants. The day will run from 11:00 to 21:00, with competitions starting once the registration period closes, around 11:30.
Registration is free and can be completed on the day of the championship before 10:30. The Street category will take place in the module area of the skatepark, which replicates obstacles and elements of the urban environment, while the Bowl will be held on the venue's ramp.
The Youth Councillor, Nacho Cuadra, noted that the event combines competition and a gathering of riders with other urban culture activities:
"Rincón Rampage is a day open to participation and enjoyment of skateboarding, combining competition and a gathering of riders with different activities linked to urban culture."
The Mayor, Francisco Salado, highlighted the youthful character of the competition:
"The appeal of a competition closely linked to youth and urban culture reflects our commitment to sports and the celebration of gatherings between enthusiasts and practitioners in spaces like our Ignacio Echeverría Skatepark."
The Councillor for Sports and Tourism, Antonio José Martín, emphasized that the championship is part of the weekend programming in celebration of International Tourism Day. The organization is managed by the City Council in coordination with H3 Events.
The championship includes two special recognitions. Black Flys will provide €250 in materials for one of the standout riders in the 'Engorilaos' recognition, while Gorillaz Grillz will offer €1,000 in sponsorship for a participant selected by the brand itself.
The program is completed with a fingerboard exhibition and a bar service with food and drinks throughout the day, as well as urban culture stands featuring clothing, accessories, and products related to skateboarding.
