The Málaga singer Nuria Fergó, born in Nerja on April 18, 1979, is the special guest this Thursday on the 'Pasapalabra' programme on Antena 3. The artist, whose real name is Nuria Fernández Gómez, became known to the general public in the first edition of 'Operación Triunfo' in 2001, where her voice and charisma led her to fame.
After her time on the show, Fergó released her first album, 'Brisa de esperanza' (2002), which achieved platinum status. This was followed by works such as 'Locura' (2003, gold record), 'Paketenteres' (2005), 'Añoranzas' (2007), 'Tierra de nadie' (2009, produced by DJ Sammy) and, more recently, 'Con permiso' (2022), an album of ranchera covers.
The Nerja native's career includes over 500 solo concerts throughout Spain. She has also participated in musicals such as 'Mi última noche con Sara, a tribute to Sara Montiel' and is currently touring the country with 'Toda una vida, a tribute to María Dolores Pradera'. On a personal level, the artist married businessman José Manuel Maíz Chacón in May 2010 in Palma de Mallorca. They have a daughter, Martina, born in July 2011. After separating that same autumn, Fergó returned to Nerja for a few years, before residing in Majadahonda and, since 2020, in Madrid.
