The PSOE of Antequera will present a motion at this Friday's plenary session to demand the opening of blocked streets in the Business Park (PEAN) and an emergency maintenance plan.
The municipal socialist group of Antequera will once again call for the improvement of the roads in the Antequera Business Park (PEAN), with particular attention to those roads that remain closed to traffic. The motion, as explained by the socialists, aims to "boost economic development and mobility" in the municipality.
The socialists believe that the PEAN is "a fundamental engine for employment and investment", but they denounce that many of its streets are blocked and show evident deterioration. In their proposal, they demand that the City Council take the necessary measures for the immediate opening of the closed roads, a decision that, they claim, was made at the time "without technical justification".
In addition to the opening, the PSOE requests a comprehensive technical inspection of the state of the roads and infrastructures of the industrial estate. They also ask for the implementation of an "emergency maintenance plan" that includes resurfacing, signage, painting, lighting, and the repair of sidewalks in this industrial area.
The motion urges the local government to plan a "guaranteed budget" to execute these improvements as a priority. Furthermore, the socialists request that business associations and property owners in the area be informed about the planned actions.
The PSOE has emphasized the importance of supporting businesses as a bet on the future of Antequera. In the PEAN, they remind, new projects continue to grow, such as the expansion of the Jami Brissas facilities or the commercial park being built in this industrial enclave.
The motion comes after the socialists have repeatedly denounced the "lamentable" state of some streets in the industrial estate. Now, they hope that the plenary will support their proposal to improve a key infrastructure for the local economy.
For the residents and businesses in the area, the opening of the closed streets would mean relief in mobility and a boost for commercial and industrial activity. The emergency plan, if approved, could begin in the coming months, although the PSOE has not specified concrete timelines.
