The Pepe Luis Bobadilla field will host the youth tournament on August 21 and 22 with Málaga, Granada, and Betis.
Andalusia's youth football has an unmissable event in Nerja. The Municipal Football Field 'Pepe Luis Bobadilla' will host the twenty-sixth edition of the Mateo David Bautista Memorial on August 21 and 22, a tournament that has become one of the summer highlights for the youth category throughout the region.
The Councillor for Sports, Daniel Rivas, presented the event on Wednesday, accompanied by the president of CD Nerja, José Antonio Muelas; the executive of the Veterans, Juan Linares, and Juan José Bautista, representing Mateo's family. They all agreed on highlighting the sporting and human value of an event that transcends pure competition.
The tournament will bring together some of the strongest youth academies in southern Spain: Málaga CF, Granada CF, Real Betis Balompié, Sevilla FC, and UD Almería, along with Costa Tropical and CD Nerja itself. Over two days, the youth teams will compete in a format that promises strong emotions and a very high level on the pitch.
Beyond the scoreboard, the Memorial keeps the memory of Mateo David Bautista alive. Each edition becomes a tribute that unites sport, coexistence, and values such as effort, respect, and teamwork, as the organizers reminded during the presentation.
The Nerja Town Hall has called on locals and visitors to come to the stadium and enjoy a weekend of top-level football. "It will be an excellent opportunity to support young footballers and enjoy the atmosphere that, edition after edition, characterizes this tournament in Nerja," emphasized the Councillor for Sports.
Entry will be free, and it is expected that the public will fill the stands to cheer on the promises of Andalusian football in an event that has become a tradition in the sports calendar of the Eastern Costa del Sol.
