The traditional musical evening in Cajiz, Vélez-Málaga, returns on August 22 with New York musician Richard Ray Farrell and seven other artists. It will start at 21:00 in the Patio de la Escuela, with a charitable purpose.
The district of Cajiz will once again host the next edition of its traditional Blues Night on August 22, reaching its fourth edition. The event, organized by the local council and the Festivities Board of Cajiz, will feature New York musician Richard Ray Farrell, one of the driving forces behind this evening.
The concert will begin at 21:00 in the Patio de la Escuela and will be charitable in support of the Festivities Board, with a food and drink area. In addition to Farrell, performers will include Javier Martín, Sergio Díaz, Manuela Nelom, and the Trío del Saco, consisting of David Quintero, Ángel Quintero, Daniel Cuenca, and Raúl Ranea.
The deputy mayor of Cajiz, Jesús María Claros, highlighted that the event “has already become a summer tradition” in the district and thanked all those involved in making it possible, “especially Richard Ray Farrell, a committed neighbour who shares all his talent for the benefit of the community.”
Claros reminded that during the evening, donations can be made in favour of the Festivities Board, which will be complemented by various raffles. For his part, Farrell encouraged everyone to “repeat the success of previous editions” and assured that this year's artists “are brilliant and deserve opportunities to showcase their talent.”
The Blues Night has established itself as one of the cultural highlights of the summer in the Axarquía, usually held at the end of August or the beginning of September. Entry is free, and the organization hopes to replicate the positive reception of previous years.
