The City Council of Antequera published on Wednesday the contracting file for the 2026/2027 PFEA, with 19 lots and a budget of 913,735.95 euros. Interested companies can submit bids until September 16.
The City Council of Antequera has put out to tender the Programme for the Promotion of Agricultural Employment (PFEA) corresponding to the 2026/2027 fiscal year, with a total budget of 913,735.95 euros, VAT included. The file, which includes 19 lots of supplies, services, and works, was published on August 19 on the Public Sector Contracting Platform and also in the Official Journal of the European Union due to its amount.
The Mayor of Antequera, Manolo Barón, and the Deputy Mayor in charge of Contracting, Juan Rosas, presented the file at a press conference on Tuesday. Barón highlighted that this tender is initiated before the conclusion of the PFEA 2025/2026, demonstrating advanced planning that allows for expedited administrative timelines.
The new programme includes redevelopment actions on Tinajerías Street, Aguardenteros Street in its third phase, Santa María la Vieja Street also in its third phase, the Gardens of the Heart of Mary in a third phase, and San Sebastián Street in the Colonia de Santa Ana. Additionally, it includes maintenance and cleaning programmes in Antequera and the northern and southern annexes, as well as the fourth phase of the Maulí Sports City.
The mayor emphasized that this file does not pertain to the hiring of PFEA personnel, but rather to the materials, supplies, services, and specialized work necessary to execute the various projects. Juan Rosas explained that this is one of the most complex files managed by the City Council, as it requires coordinated work from the Contracting and Works departments throughout most of the year.
The contract is divided into 19 lots: nine for supplies, one for services, and nine for works. Among the supplies are individual and collective protections, earth and aggregates, pipes and PVC parts for sanitation, construction materials, steels and mesh, ready-mixed concrete, natural stone, cast iron covers, urban furniture, and gardening elements, as well as the transportation service for tanks. The work lots include earthmoving and trenches, potable water supply networks, paving and road signage, as well as electricity and public lighting.
Rosas encouraged companies in Antequera to participate in the process, reminding that public tendering guarantees competition “on equal terms and with total transparency.” The deadline for submitting bids ends on September 16, after which the Contracting Department will analyse the proposals and formalize the awards, including any necessary correction procedures.
The municipal forecast is for the actions to begin in January 2027, with a total execution period of nine months, meaning the programme would extend until the end of September or early October. The mayor noted that this schedule takes into account the agricultural reality of Antequera and its region, to avoid the main labour contracts of the PFEA coinciding with periods of higher demand for workers in the fields.
Barón recalled that the call for the PFEA by the State Public Employment Service occurred this year on May 28, almost three months later than usual, which affects administrative timelines. Both the mayor and the deputy mayor thanked the municipal technicians for their work in preparing a file that will ensure all necessary supplies and works for the new actions.
