The City Council of Antequera has carried out clearing, cleaning, and conditioning tasks on 1,495 linear metres of urban watercourses. The actions aim to keep these spaces in good condition and prevent issues during episodes of rain.
The City Council of Antequera, through the Maintenance Area, has performed clearing, cleaning, and conditioning work on a total of 1,495 linear metres of urban watercourses in the municipality. The goal is to maintain these spaces in good condition and help prevent potential problems during episodes of rain.
The mayor, Manolo Barón, and the deputy mayor in charge of Works and Maintenance, Teresa Molina, have inspected some of these tasks, which focus on sections within the municipal jurisdiction. The work has been carried out with the necessary permits and communications regarding public hydraulic domain.
The interventions include cleaning approximately 300 linear metres of the Adelfas stream as it passes through the Industrial Estate, as well as another 875 metres of the Villa River watercourse in this same area, where the longest intervention is concentrated.
These works are complemented by the cleaning of 50 metres of the Alcázar stream as it passes through the Gandía path and another 50 metres of the Seco stream in the Matagrande area. A 220 linear metre intervention has also been completed in the watercourse located next to Poeta Muñoz Rojas Avenue, in the vicinity of the Hospital.
Teresa Molina explained that these tasks are part of the maintenance and conservation of the urban watercourses that fall under the City Council's responsibility, with the aim of improving their conditions and contributing to the municipality's safety during potential rain episodes.
Additionally, these interventions are complemented by actions that the Andalusian Government carries out throughout the year in the watercourses under its jurisdiction, within the respective areas of action of both administrations.
The City Council will continue working on the conservation of urban watercourses under municipal jurisdiction and will report to the regional administration any incidents detected or communicated by residents in sections that fall under the responsibility of the Andalusian Government.
