The Peña Flamenca Luis Perdiguero hosts the recital of María Jesús Bernal singing and Manuel Jero on guitar on Saturday, October 17 at 19:00. Entry is free and access is via the Puerta de Sol.
The City Council of Antequera and the Peña Flamenca Luis Perdiguero have presented the second edition of the Flamenco Autumn, which will take place on Saturday October 17 at 19:00 at the peña's venue, located in the Plaza de Toros. The recital will feature María Jesús Bernal singing and Manuel Jero on guitar, and will be presented by Antonio Muñoz, president of the entity.
The deputy mayor in charge of Major Festivals, Traditions and Promotion of Flamenco, Elena Melero, and Muñoz himself have detailed that entry will be free and access will be via the Puerta de Sol. This initiative continues the event held in 2025, which received a good response from the public and organization.
Melero explained that this space serves as a meeting point for enthusiasts and thanked the work of the board of directors of the peña throughout the year. The municipal official encouraged flamenco lovers and the general public to get to know the facilities and enjoy the performance.
“It is an opportunity to listen live to two artists of great trajectory in a close atmosphere,” said Elena Melero during the presentation.
María Jesús Bernal, from La Puebla de Cazalla, grew up connected to singing through her family background and her locality. Among her influences are Fernanda de Utrera, Antonio Mairena, Camarón de la Isla, and Terremoto de Jerez. Melero highlighted her strength and interpretative authenticity.
The guitarist from Jerez Manuel Jero, son of Periquín Niño Jero, began playing at the age of twelve and has accompanied artists such as Aurora Vargas, Pansequito, Juana la del Revuelo, Niña Pastori, Antonio Reyes, and Rancapino Chico, among others.
The president of the peña thanked the City Council for once again counting on the entity and reminded that the activities it promotes maintain free entry. Muñoz invited the residents of Antequera and the surrounding area to attend on October 17.
