The Town Hall of Torremolinos has scheduled children's workshops, concerts, and a market for the inauguration of the revamped Plaza de la Nogalera, which takes place this Thursday, July 23.
Torremolinos is unveiling the revamped Plaza de la Nogalera this Thursday, July 23, a space that has undergone significant urban regeneration. The Town Hall has organised a special programme of free activities to celebrate the launch of this iconic site, which aims to become a modern, accessible, and safe meeting point for locals and tourists.
The plaza, which sees thousands of people pass through daily due to its proximity to the commuter train station and numerous shops and restaurants, has been redesigned to improve accessibility and safety. It is one of the main urban renewal projects undertaken in the municipality in recent years.
The programme will kick off at 19:00 with ambient entertainment in various areas of the town centre. In the Plaza de la Nogalera itself, five children's workshops inspired by the play 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' will be set up. At 21:00, singer Jassy Ojeda will perform, and at 22:00, the official inauguration ceremony will take place, after which two DJs will present the show 'Recreo' until 23:30.
San Miguel street will feature special decorations throughout the day. In Plaza de Andalucía, from 19:00 until midnight, a market will be set up along with musical entertainment. There will also be music in Pasaje Pizarro, Cauce street, and Antonio Girón street.
In Plaza Costa del Sol, the LGTBI Choir of Torremolinos will perform at 19:00; at 19:45, Lucía Barroso with 'The Royal Family'; and at 20:30, dancer and choreographer Manuel Roldán. Palma de Mallorca avenue will become a showcase of local creativity and talent, with live hairdressing demonstrations and a fashion show featuring local businesses, from 20:00 to 21:30.
Additionally, ten fantastic characters themed around flowers and magic will roam the town centre as itinerant entertainment. The Town Hall invites all locals and visitors to enjoy this festive day that marks a turning point in one of the busiest areas of Torremolinos.
