Sevilla FC has made its debut in the 26/27 pre-season with a friendly against Juventud de Torremolinos. Luis García Plaza has fielded two of the summer signings: Arouna Sangante and Jon Guridi.

Sevilla FC began its pre-season this Saturday, July 11, with a friendly match against Juventud de Torremolinos. Luis García Plaza, who took charge of the team last March, has set out his first XI of the 26/27 season with two new faces: central defender Arouna Sangante and midfielder Jon Guridi, both summer signings.

A revamped defence with Sangante

Sangante, 24, has formed a central pairing with Kike Salas. The defender arrived on a free transfer from Le Havre and has signed for five seasons. His presence aims to strengthen a line that has been the team's Achilles' heel in recent years.

Completing the defence are José Ángel Carmona on the right flank and Gabriel Suazo on the left. In goal, Alberto Fernández has been the starting goalkeeper in this first test.

Guridi, a new face in midfield

In the midfield, Jon Guridi has been a starter. The midfielder, signed from Real Sociedad, brings dynamism and experience. He is joined in midfield by Saúl Ñíguez and Óscar Rodríguez.

The forward line has consisted of Isaac Romero and Rafa Mir, while Suso has started from the right wing. The XI has been as follows: Alberto Fernández; Carmona, Sangante, Kike Salas, Suazo; Guridi, Saúl, Óscar Rodríguez; Suso, Isaac Romero and Rafa Mir.

A bench with rotations

In the second half, Luis García Plaza made numerous changes to give minutes to the rest of the squad. Players such as Joan Jordán, Januzaj, En-Nesyri, and youth player Juanlu came on.

The match, played at the Estadio Municipal El Pozuelo in Torremolinos, has allowed the coach to see the first impressions of his players ahead of an exciting season. The team will travel to the Netherlands next week to continue their preparation.

For Sevilla fans, the main novelty has been seeing Sangante and Guridi in the white and red shirt. Both have shown good promise and are expected to be starters at the beginning of the league. The next friendly will be on Wednesday against FC Twente.
