The town of Guadalupe, in Cáceres, was the scene of an intense chase that resulted in the arrest of three occupants of a stolen vehicle. This incident took place last Tuesday.
The detainees, two men and a woman, are accused of various crimes, including vehicle theft and reckless driving. The operation began after a report from a petrol station in Sierra de Fuentes, where the individuals had refuelled without making the corresponding payment.
Details of the chase
The Civil Guard received the alert about the stolen vehicle, which had been identified thanks to the information provided by the service station. The officers quickly implemented a plan to locate the car, mobilising several patrols.
During the escape, the driver displayed great recklessness, including dangerous manoeuvres on the A-5 motorway, where they even drove in the wrong direction upon noticing the police presence.
Consequences of the arrest
Finally, the vehicle was intercepted near Guadalupe. During the arrest, one of the occupants jumped from the moving car and attempted to hide in the undergrowth, but was rescued by the officers.
The three occupants, aged between 19 and 26, have a criminal record related to property crimes. Furthermore, their possible connection to another robbery at a petrol station in Toledo, which occurred the night before the incident in Cáceres, is being investigated.
