The Civil Guard has seized 1,124 kilograms of hashish on the coast of Marbella and has arrested three people, two of them after locating a van with 26 bales and another at the Port of Fuengirola.
The Civil Guard has confiscated 1,124 kilograms of hashish on the coast of Marbella after the drug was unloaded from a high-speed rigid-hulled inflatable boat. The operation, according to the Armed Institute, resulted in the arrest of three individuals and the seizure of several vehicles and a recreational boat.
The operation began in the early hours when agents received a tip-off from the Central Operational Services (COS). The alert reported the detection of a possible narco boat about 13 nautical miles south of the municipality of Marbella, which had come alongside a recreational vessel. After the encounter, both boats took different courses towards various points along the coast, as detailed by the Benemérita, which did not specify the exact date of the events.
Upon deploying to the designated location for the stash, the agents found a van containing 26 bales of hashish inside, weighing a total of 1,124 kilograms, and proceeded to arrest two individuals. The seized packages weighed approximately 40 kilograms each.
In a coordinated effort, patrols intercepted at the Port of Fuengirola the recreational boat that allegedly provided logistical support to the narco boat. Onboard, they found five jerrycans of petrol prepared for refuelling at sea, a practice known as petaqueo, and immediately arrested its crew member.
The three individuals are charged with alleged crimes against public health and document forgery, and they have been placed at the disposal of the competent judicial authority. In addition to the hashish, the operation seized the recreational boat, the van carrying the drugs, and a car with false license plates belonging to one of the detainees.
The actions were carried out by personnel from the Main Post of Mijas, the Tax and Border Patrol of Torremolinos, the Citizen Security Unit of the Command (USECIC), and the Judicial Police Team of Mijas, as reported by Diario Sur.
