Marbella is bringing back the Marbepop Festival on October 3 at the Parque de la Represa to celebrate its 40th anniversary. Entry will be free and there will be live music from 16:00 until midnight.
The Marbepop Festival will return to Marbella on October 3 to celebrate its 40th anniversary at the Parque de la Represa. The event, organised by the Youth delegation, will have free entry and will offer live music from 16:00 to 00:00.
The mayor, Ángeles Muñoz, presented the lineup accompanied by the area councillor, Alejandro González. Muñoz highlighted the importance of this anniversary and stated that the event maintains “its ability to be a meeting point through music,” despite the fact that “trends, generations, and ways of understanding music have changed.” She also congratulated “everyone who has contributed to keeping the project alive over all these years.”
This edition's lineup is headed by La Leshe Que Mamate, a legendary local band linked to the origins of Marbepop, which will return with its mix of ska and good vibes. They will be joined by Malmö 040, with fresh pop; Las Dianas, from Granada, with their carefree pop-punk; and Skabum, a San Pedro group that was a finalist on the television show La Voz Kids.
The festival continues its role as a platform for young artists from Marbella and San Pedro Alcántara. Alongside La Leshe Que Mamate and Skabum, five other local acts will perform: Aigy, Klimax, Hizooz, Hako, and Ñeco, featuring urban sounds like trap, afro, rap, and other contemporary influences.
In addition to music, Marbepop will have a space to promote artistic and entrepreneurial initiatives through the Factoría Joven, and a bar with affordable prices. Part of the proceeds will go to a local NGO, while the revenue from ecovasos will go to Triple A, which is celebrating its 35th anniversary.
