The Marbella Town Hall is intensifying surveillance on the dog beaches of El Pinillo and Ventura del Mar to ensure orderly coexistence between bathers and pets during the summer season.

The Local Police of Marbella has launched a special surveillance operation at the two designated dog beaches in the municipality. The aim is to ensure that dog owners respect the usage rules and that other coastal users can enjoy the beach without disturbances. This measure coincides with the peak of the bathing season, when beach attendance is at its highest.

Two exclusive areas for pets

The authorized areas are the beach of El Pinillo, in the properly marked section, and the beach of Ventura del Mar, in San Pedro Alcántara. Both have clear boundaries and are equipped for dog bathing, with direct access to the water and enough space for animals to move freely.

The Town Hall reminds that these spaces are designed for owners to enjoy the coastal environment with their pets under suitable conditions, while preserving the peaceful use of the rest of the coastline. Municipal sources have indicated that surveillance will focus on preventing dogs from accessing unauthorized areas and reminding owners of their obligation to clean up after their pets.

Coexistence and order on the sand

The initiative aims to promote proper coexistence among all beach users. In recent years, the increase in tourists and residents with pets has led to some complaints about dogs in non-designated areas. With this reinforcement, the Council intends to address these concerns without giving up the offer of spaces for animals.

Officers will conduct periodic patrols during peak hours, especially on weekends and holidays. Additionally, informational signs have been installed at the entrances to both beaches with the basic rules: dogs must be leashed until the shore, owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets, and they must ensure that their pets do not disturb other bathers.

A commitment to pet-friendly tourism

Marbella has become an increasingly pet friendly destination, and these dog beaches are an attraction for visitors travelling with dogs. The surveillance measure not only seeks order but also aims to consolidate the municipality's image as a welcoming place for animals. In fact, the Town Hall has received requests to expand these areas, although for now the two current ones remain.

For the residents of Marbella and San Pedro Alcántara, this news is a relief: they will be able to take their dogs to the beach with the peace of mind that the space is monitored. A municipal spokesperson highlighted that “most owners comply with the rules, but we want everyone to do so to ensure a positive experience for all.”

The operation will continue throughout the bathing season, which ends in September. Those seeking more information can consult the Town Hall's website or visit the tourist offices. And be careful, as the fine for taking a dog to an unauthorized beach can reach 750 euros. Better to go to El Pinillo or Ventura del Mar, that's what they're for.
