Vélez-Málaga has been the setting for a preventive workday organised by Axarquía Hospital in collaboration with the Provincial Consortium of Málaga Firefighters. This initiative was carried out with the aim of improving coordination between emergency teams and the hospital.
Inspection of Facilities
Ten firefighters conducted a visit to the hospital's facilities, framed within a continuous training programme aimed at understanding sensitive and large infrastructures. During this day, the firefighters were able to locate and inspect key elements of the building.
Among the areas reviewed are the main accesses, evacuation routes, and available fire safety systems, as well as the thermal power plant, the facilities gallery, the generator set, and other high-traffic areas such as the kitchen and the MRI room.
Importance of Prevention
Such activities are essential to ensure a quick, effective, and safe response to potential incidents. Furthermore, the recent expansion of Axarquía Hospital has made the verification and familiarisation with the building even more relevant.
The collaboration between the hospital and emergency services is a vital aspect for the safety of patients and staff, facilitating evacuation in case of emergency. Thanks to these days, the response capacity in critical situations is reinforced.
