The Marbella City Council has signed a new agreement with the San Bernabé Housewives Association, endowed with 6,000 euros for its 'Women for Marbella' project.
The mayor of Marbella, Ángeles Muñoz, and the president of the San Bernabé Housewives Association, Rosario Arévalo, have signed a new collaboration agreement that includes a grant of 6,000 euros to finance the 'Women for Marbella' project. The agreement, framed within the Strategic Grant Plan of the council, will allow the entity to continue its social and educational work.
The initiative includes socio-educational workshops, activities of social interest, actions to promote participation within the group, and operational and maintenance costs of the association. The entity, with nearly three decades of experience, operates in a space that, according to the mayor, "has consolidated itself as a meeting point" for the women of the municipality.
"It provides resources for the association to continue developing the work it carries out with the group of women throughout the year," explained the councillor for Citizen Participation, Enrique Rodríguez.
Among the proposals promoted by the association are workshops and meetings on various educational topics, as well as activities organized for the Day of Andalucía and San Bernabé, summer evenings, excursions, and other initiatives that promote coexistence. Rodríguez highlighted that the agreement adds to the municipal support for the associative fabric, which allows addressing "different concerns and areas of action" present in the city.
The president of the group, Rosario Arévalo, expressed her satisfaction with the municipal support and the current facilities, which allow members to "have a place of their own to develop our activities and hold our meetings." The aid will also help cover part of the programming costs, such as travel and dance activities.
The association holds a meeting every Wednesday that serves as a space for participation and communication, open to the neighbourhood. The agreement thus reinforces the role of an entity that has been working for nearly thirty years in areas such as participation, coexistence, and training.
