Marbella participates in the Legends Tour in Kent (England) with its own stand and meetings with British tour operators to attract high-value golfers.
The Tourism delegation of Marbella is present this week at the Legends Tour, held at the Chart Hills Golf Club in Kent (England), aiming to promote the city as a year-round golf destination. At the tournament, the municipality has its own promotional stand where it distributes specialized materials and merchandise aimed at players, professionals, and enthusiasts.
The General Director of Tourism, Laura de Arce, explained that the initiative includes working meetings with Golfbreaks and Your Golf Travel, two of the leading British specialists in golf travel. "These meetings allow us to present our city directly to important influencers in the sector, strengthen professional relationships, and explore new avenues of collaboration in a market as relevant to our destination as the British one," she noted.
De Arce reminded that golf is a key product for attracting high-value visitors and contributing to the de-seasonalisation of tourism, as Marbella offers conditions for playing it almost twelve months a year, complemented by quality accommodation, gastronomy, leisure, and shopping. Participation in Kent continues the municipality's attendance at other events in the circuit, which gathers former elite world players.
As part of the initiatives, the city has sponsored a prize that includes two nights' stay in Marbella and four green fees, so that the winner can experience the municipality's tourism and golf offerings firsthand. According to De Arce, the strategy of the City Council aims to ensure that presence at major events generates visibility and, above all, real sales opportunities.
