Over 1,000 schoolchildren from Marbella will participate from October to December in the sixth edition of the Environmental Education Programme, which will take place at Fuerte Nagüeles with the sponsorship of Hidralia.
More than 1,000 students from Marbella will take part in the sixth edition of the Environmental Education Programme, which will run from October to December at Fuerte Nagüeles with the sponsorship of Hidralia. The mayor, Ángeles Muñoz, presented the initiative this Wednesday and highlighted that the City Council continues to support proposals that, from an early age, promote values such as respect and care for the environment.
Muñoz emphasised that the activities will allow schoolchildren to learn and enjoy in a natural setting and thanked the involvement of educational centres, whose collaboration she deemed essential for the programme's success.

The director of Fuerte Nagüeles, Alfredo García, explained that the call has reached its sixth edition and recalled that last year more than 10,000 children visited the centre's facilities through various programmes and camps. The goal, he noted, is to educate on biodiversity and ensure that the protection of nature becomes an ingrained sentiment from a young age.
The programme includes a farm school with domestic animals, a natural circuit of trees and plants, and a tree route. Additionally, there are 15,000 square metres of Mediterranean pine forest at Fuerte Nagüeles, which will allow schoolchildren to experience the richness of the natural environment firsthand and reinforce what they have learned during the sessions.
The activities will take place between October and December at the facilities of Fuerte Nagüeles. Educational centres in Marbella wishing to participate must coordinate with the programme's organisation.
