On October 10, 300 couples will traverse Marbella in a scavenger hunt with €55,000 in prizes, including a diamond ring. The initiative aims to boost tourism outside the high season.

Marbella is preparing to host the first edition of the urban scavenger hunt ‘¿Y mi anillo pa’cuándo?’ on October 10, an event that will bring together 300 couples and distribute over €55,000 in prizes. The initiative, promoted by businessman Miguel Gómez, is supported by the Marbella City Council and other entities, and combines technology, heritage, gastronomy, and commerce in a route through various locations in the city.

The mayor of Marbella, Ángeles Muñoz, highlighted during the event's presentation “the ability of this proposal to incorporate a new tourist experience linked to the city and its potential to project it through an innovative format.” Muñoz emphasized that the initiative “arises from the knowledge that its promoter has of both the jewellery sector and our destination, which has allowed for the development of a proposal that brings together distinctive elements.”

For his part, Miguel Gómez detailed that the project “will turn Marbella into the city with the largest emotional event in the world” and explained that it “aims to make the experience of the proposal and commitment the central axis of an event that combines technology, entertainment, and knowledge of our locality.” The route, he added, “will allow participants to discover different iconic spaces through a dynamic similar to an ‘escape room’, designed so that any couple, regardless of their physical condition, can participate.”

Gómez stated that the goal is for the initiative “to have a vocation for continuity and become part of the annual calendar of activities in October, a time of lower tourist influx compared to the high season.” In this way, the event not only seeks to entertain but also to stimulate the local economy during a traditionally weaker period for tourism.

The Director of Strategy and Innovation at Kaiju Group, Mónica Ibars, has outlined the details of the scavenger hunt's development. The event will kick off at the Parque de la Constitución, where couples will be sent off and the activity's operation will be explained, consisting of twelve challenges. From there, participants will travel to different points in Marbella following the instructions of a mobile application created specifically for the occasion, which will allow them to unlock milestones and advance in the competition.

The initiative will involve commercial establishments and various spaces in the city, aiming for the itinerary to showcase the streets and squares of the municipality. In this way, the scavenger hunt will not only be a game but also a way to promote local commerce and Marbella's urban heritage.

After the first phase, which will last more than six hours, participants will return to the Parque de la Constitución. A catering service will be offered there before facing the final phase of the competition, which will conclude with the award ceremony. Among the prizes are over 20 rings, one valued at over €15,000, as well as watches, trips, and exclusive experiences. The 300 registered couples will also receive various gifts provided by the collaborating entities.

The star prize is a white gold band with a one-carat diamond, which will be awarded to the winning couple. In total, the organization will distribute over €55,000 in prizes, making this scavenger hunt one of the most lucrative in Spain in its category.

Registrations are already open through the official event website, https://ymianillopacuando.es/. Spaces are limited to 300 couples, so the organization recommends signing up as soon as possible to avoid missing out. The event is open to any couple, regardless of age or physical condition, as the challenges are designed to be accessible.

With this initiative, Marbella aims to position itself as an innovative destination for experiential tourism, offering an activity that combines the romance of a marriage proposal with the fun of an urban competition. The scavenger hunt ‘¿Y mi anillo pa’cuándo?’ promises to be a unique event that, if successful, could be repeated in the coming years, establishing itself in the city’s autumn calendar.
