Málaga CF has changed the venue for their friendly against Leicester City, which will be held at Marbella Football Center. Tickets purchased for the match in Algeciras will not be valid and will be refunded.
Málaga Club de Fútbol announced this Friday a last-minute change in the venue for their upcoming pre-season match. The friendly against Leicester City, which was to take place at the Nuevo Mirador stadium in Algeciras, will now be held at the facilities of Marbella Football Center. The club attributes the change to factors beyond the control of both the white-and-blue entity and the English team.
The match time remains unchanged: the game will kick off at 19:00, the same time originally scheduled. However, the change of venue directly affects fans who had already purchased their tickets for the match in Algeciras.
According to Málaga CF, tickets purchased previously will not be valid at the new location. Fans who bought their tickets online will receive an automatic refund, without the need for any further action. For those who purchased their tickets at a physical box office, the refund process will begin next Monday, July 27.
Those wishing to attend the match at Marbella Football Center will need to purchase new tickets through the club's official channels. The Málaga entity has apologised to its fans for any inconvenience this unexpected change may cause and has insisted that it is due to unforeseen factors beyond their control.
The match is part of Málaga CF's summer preparation, as they finalise the squad's readiness before the start of the official season. Leicester City, a team from the English Championship, will be a significant opponent to gauge the level of the Costa del Sol team during this pre-season phase.
Marbella Football Center is a sports complex located in the Málaga town of Marbella, featuring several natural grass pitches and facilities for hosting friendly matches and team training camps. This is not the first time it has hosted a match of this nature during the summer.
Málaga CF continues with its work plan for the upcoming campaign, in which it hopes to improve on last season's records. The coaching staff leading the team will use these matches to test different systems and give minutes to the players in the squad.
The club advises fans to stay tuned to their official channels for any updates regarding ticket sales for the new venue. Refunds for the cancelled tickets will be processed within the indicated timeframes, with no action required from fans for online purchases.
