Atlético Marbella Paraíso strengthens its attack with Juanfri García, a forward who has been the top scorer in the Gibraltar league in five of the last eight seasons and has competed in European competitions with Lincoln Red Imps.
Atlético Marbella Paraíso has finalised the signing of Juanfri García, a forward with an impressive scoring record who arrives from Gibraltar's Lincoln Red Imps. The player, trained in the Málaga CF youth academy, becomes the key offensive signing for the white-and-blue team in their debut in Tercera RFEF.
A goal-scoring killer with a Málaga past
Juanfri, 34, grew up in the Málaga CF youth academy, where he made his official debut with the first team in a match against Getafe. After his time with the Málaga reserve team, he began a career that has taken him across much of Andalusia and abroad.
In Spain, he has worn the jerseys of Marbella FC, Écija Balompié, CD Estepona, Antequera CF, and UD San Pedro. With Estepona, he achieved promotion to Segunda División B, and with Antequera and San Pedro, he competed in promotion phases.
His international journey includes a stint in the Indian Premier League with Sporting Clube de Goa and in the Georgian Premier League with Saburtalo FC. However, it has been in Gibraltar where he has written the brightest chapters of his career.
Five top scorer titles and European experience
In Gibraltar football, Juanfri has played for St. Joseph’s and Lincoln Red Imps, the most successful club in the country. With the 'Reds', he has won two leagues, one cup, and one supercup, and has been the league's top scorer in five of the last eight seasons.
Additionally, he has participated in qualifying rounds of the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, and UEFA Conference League, scoring in all of them. This record demonstrates his ability to perform in high-level scenarios.
The management of Atlético Marbella Paraíso has highlighted that his experience and leadership will be key to facing the challenge of Tercera RFEF. The club, which competes in group 9, aims to establish itself in the category, and Juanfri is the piece that must provide the necessary goals.
Two more signings for the project
Alongside Juanfri, the club has announced the signings of Belgian centre-back Laurens Huysentruyt and young midfielder Jamal Embarek, 17, who steps up to the first team after developing in the club's youth academy.
Huysentruyt arrives to provide solidity and leadership in defence, while Embarek represents the commitment to youth and the future. The team, which is excitedly preparing for its league debut, already has a balanced squad to compete.
Fans of Atlético Marbella Paraíso can be pleased: Juanfri is coming home (he played for Marbella FC years ago) and he does so with a backpack full of goals and experience. The league debut is scheduled for the end of August, and all signs point to the forward being the team's offensive reference.
