Córdoba CF began their pre-season on the Costa del Sol with a 1-1 draw against South Africa's Orlando Pirates, in a match played this Wednesday at the Marbella Football Center. Iván Ania's team dominated the first half but failed to close the game in the second half.

Initial Dominance Without Reward

The blanquiverdes started with intensity, and Eder García was the most active in attack, with several shots that missed the target. The Orlando Pirates, on the other hand, improved as the game progressed and managed to level the match after the hydration break, although without creating any real danger.

The first half passed without goals, with Córdoba having control but lacking accuracy in front of goal. The South African team, managed by Abdeslam Ouaddou, appeared organised and waited for their opportunity.

Goal and Counter Goal in the Second Half

Upon resumption, with changes in both teams, Córdoba took the lead in the 68th minute thanks to a left-footed shot from inside the area by homegrown player Javi Antrás. The goal seemed to set the course of the match for Ania's team, but a mistake in a back pass from Iker Álvarez allowed Radiopane to equalise in the 74th minute.

In the final minutes, both Moremi and Kevin Medina had chances to tip the score, but goalkeepers Chaine and Córdoba's keeper prevented any goals. The match ended in a draw, a result that leaves mixed feelings for the Córdoba team.
