Three masked men have assaulted the manager of a tobacconist in Elviria, Marbella, on Monday as he was heading to a bank to deposit the takings. He was threatened with a firearm, but was unharmed.
An armed robbery took place on Monday on Avenida de España in Elviria, Marbella, when three individuals approached the owner of a tobacconist to steal the day's takings. The events occurred around 10:55 AM, as confirmed by Diario Sur.
Two of the assailants, with their faces concealed, surprised the shopkeeper as he had just exited the establishment intending to make a deposit at a bank branch. A third accomplice was waiting in a vehicle to facilitate their escape.
The thieves used a firearm, the nature of which is unknown—whether real or fake—to intimidate the victim, whom they aimed at with the weapon. Despite the scare, the tobacconist did not suffer any physical injuries and did not require medical assistance at the scene.
Several witnesses alerted the Emergencias 112 Andalucía coordination centre, which notified the National Police. Officers have deployed a device to locate the perpetrators, who fled at high speed. So far, no arrests have been reported.
This incident recalls the recent dismantling of a criminal network accused of committing seven armed robberies against business cash collectors in industrial areas of Málaga, Sevilla, and Murcia. In that joint operation by the National Police and the Civil Guard, nine people were arrested, four of whom are in provisional custody.
