A man has been shot in the leg in a shooting that occurred this Tuesday in the Golden Mile of Marbella. The Local Police have arrested three young men following a chase that ended in Nagüeles.
A new shooting has raised alarms on the Costa del Sol. A man has been shot in the leg in an incident reported early Tuesday afternoon in Marbella, in the heart of the Golden Mile. According to Diario Sur, three individuals are already in custody.
The events occurred on Ramón Gómez de la Serna street around 14:15 hours. Several people in the area were startled by the sound of gunfire and alerted the Emergency Services 112 Andalucía. Initial reports placed the incident near a hotel, and investigation sources specify that the shots were fired in a public area.
The alleged perpetrators fled in a car, but a patrol from the Local Police of Marbella that happened to be in the area began to follow them. The vehicle eventually crashed, the suspects abandoned it, and the chase continued on foot to the area of Nagüeles, where officers arrested three individuals. They are young men aged between 25 and 30, and at least one is originally from the Netherlands, according to sources.
So far, the weapon has not been found, leading to the main hypothesis that it was discarded during the escape. National Police units arrived at the scene and have opened an investigation to clarify what happened. The involvement of a fourth individual is not ruled out, and this body will bring the detainees before the judiciary. Emergency services attended to the injured man, whose condition is unknown.
This is the second shooting in Marbella in two weeks. At the end of August, a 33-year-old man of Senegalese origin was found dead with two gunshot wounds to the abdomen on Pintor Pacheco street. In that case, the Specialised and Violent Crime Unit (UDEV) of the National Police took charge of the investigation, and no arrests have been reported.
