The Manilva Town Hall has reduced its debt from 19 to 14.25 million euros in three years, according to the report from the finance councillor, Juan Carlos Morejón. The municipal coffers hold 7 million euros and work is already underway on the 2027 budget.
The finance councillor of Manilva, Juan Carlos Morejón, has presented a report on the municipal accounts that indicates a reduction of nearly 5 million euros in debt since he took office in 2023. According to his data, the Town Hall has reduced its inherited debt from 19 million euros to a forecast of 14,250,000 euros by the end of the current term.
Of that initial amount, 17.5 million was related to outstanding payments to Tax Authority and Social Security, along with 1.5 million in fines that, according to the councillor, have already been settled. Morejón detailed that his department continues to meet its commitments, including the payment of several judgments amounting to 1.5 million euros to families affected by expropriation files at the entrance of Manilva village.
The municipal finance officer has assured that the accounts are healthy and that the Town Hall's coffers have 7 million euros. Meanwhile, the department is already working on the new budget for 2027, which projects new significant investments for the municipality.
“The accounts are healthy and the municipal coffers have 7 million euros”
Morejón has described the report as positive and congratulated the finance team for their daily work. The evolution of the debt is reflected in the accounts that the Manilva Town Hall presents as the term comes to a close.
