The Fuengirola City Council has presented a new edition of the Special Summer Cultural Week, aimed at children aged 7 to 14, which will take place from August 4 to 7 at the Roman Archaeological Site Finca del Secretario.
Once again, the Roman site Finca del Secretario in Fuengirola will become a living history classroom for the little ones. The City Council has launched a new edition of the Special Summer Cultural Week, a free activity that combines practical workshops with guided tours for children aged 7 to 14.
A Journey Through History in Four Days
The initiative will kick off on Tuesday, August 4, and will run until Friday, August 7, always from 11:00 to 13:00. Each day will be dedicated to a different historical period, with crafts and activities adapted to the age of the participants.
On Tuesday, children will travel back to Prehistory with workshops on cave painting and making prehistoric idols. On Wednesday, the programme will jump to the Phoenician era and the Iberian world, with activities focused on Phoenician art and polychromy. On Thursday, Ancient Rome will take over with workshops on polychromy and mythology. Finally, Friday will close the cycle with the Middle Ages, featuring tile and plaster activities.
Each day will also include a guided tour of the site and an archaeological reproduction in the workshop. The aim is for the children to gain firsthand knowledge of the history of the site and to get closer to the work of ancient civilisations.
"It is an opportunity to combine leisure, culture, creativity, and the discovery of one of the city's most significant heritage spaces," highlighted the Councillor for Culture, Rodrigo Romero.
Small Groups and Final Diploma
The activities will be organised in groups of 15 to 20 participants. Although it is recommended to attend all four sessions to complete the historical journey and receive a certification diploma, it is also possible to register for individual days.

The City Council reminds that this proposal is part of the cultural programming designed for the summer months, aimed at providing educational leisure alternatives during school holidays.
