The Town Hall of Fuengirola has reminded that the deadline to renew places in the municipal sports schools and activities for the 2026/2027 academic year ends on July 31. So far, 65% of users have already completed the process.
The Councillor for Sports of Fuengirola, Julio Rodríguez, has urged users who have not yet renewed their place in the municipal sports schools and activities to do so before July 31, the date on which the deadline for the next 2026/2027 academic year ends. The councillor has recommended completing the process online to avoid travel and waiting times.
Rodríguez has detailed that the renewal process can be comfortably done from home through the Sports Department's website or via the Citizen Card app, although in-person assistance is also available at the sports facilities on Miguel Bueno Street. However, users of the activities at the Santa Fe complex in Los Boliches must go in person to the Sports Department offices at the Elola municipal complex.
So far, nearly 2,900 residents, 65% of subscribers, have renewed their places. Of these, approximately 1,100 have opted for the online route, a trend that the councillor views positively due to its speed and convenience. “More and more people are choosing this option, which is much more agile,” he noted.
To facilitate the process, the Sports Department has published a video tutorial explaining step by step how to renew a place, available on the municipal YouTube channel. The councillor has encouraged users to consult it if they have any doubts.
On the other hand, new applications to access the sports schools and activities can be submitted starting August 5. Rodríguez has advised interested parties to request their username and password in advance by sending an email to deportes@fuengirola.org, so that when the application period opens, they can register without delay.
New users also have a specific video tutorial on the registration procedure. Enrolments can be formalised through the platform set up by the department.
The councillor reiterated the convenience of using online channels for both renewals and new registrations, aiming to expedite the processes and avoid queues. “Our goal is to provide an increasingly comfortable service to residents,” he concluded.
The municipal sports activities in Fuengirola include a wide range of offerings for all ages, from introductory schools to programs for adults. The renewal of places is a key step to ensure the continuity of participants.
The Town Hall reminds that those who do not renew before July 31 will lose their place, which will become available for new applications starting August 5. Therefore, they insist on not leaving the process until the last minute.
