The Fishing Club La Baila and Fuengirola Town Hall will celebrate the twelfth edition of the Children's Shore Fishing Workshop on Sunday, September 13, at El Castillo beach, with free registration.
The Fishing Club La Baila, in collaboration with the Fuengirola Town Hall, will hold the XII Children's Shore Fishing Workshop at El Castillo beach from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Sunday, September 13. This activity is part of the municipal sports programme ‘Fuengirola en Forma’ and aims to introduce children to the world of sport fishing.
The Sports Councillor, Julio Rodríguez, and the club president, Dionisio Palencia, presented the details of this event on Wednesday, which is now in its twelfth edition and attracts numerous families each year. Participation is free, but prior registration is required through the social media channels of the Fishing Club La Baila or by calling 656 674 756.
“There are already around 70 registered, and we hope to reach a hundred participants, as we did last year,” Rodríguez noted.
During the event, club instructors will teach the children the basic skills needed to prepare equipment and fish from the shore. The club provides all necessary materials: rod, reel, hooks, bait, and other utensils. At the end, each participant will receive a certificate of participation.
“The aim of this workshop is to introduce children to fishing. We provide all the necessary equipment,” Palencia explained.
This fun and educational activity reinforces the municipal commitment to grassroots sports and Fuengirola's connection to the sea. Places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, so early reservation is recommended.
