The Benalmádena Town Hall has opened the registration period for activities at the Active Participation Centres for the 2026/2027 course, with 1,300 places available in 60 workshops. Applications can be submitted until August 7.
Senior citizens in Benalmádena can now sign up for next year's workshops at the Active Participation Centres. The Town Hall, through the Department of Elderly Affairs, opened the registration period on Friday, July 24, for the 2026/2027 programme, which offers a total of 1,300 places distributed across 60 workshops.
The activities will take place in the four municipal centres: CPA Anica Torres, CPA Silvestre González, Carola Social Centre, and Doña Gloria Alonso Social Centre. The Councillor for Elderly Affairs, María Luisa Robles, has encouraged residents to participate in this initiative, designed to promote active ageing, coexistence, and well-being.
The registration period will remain open until August 7. Applications should preferably be made through the Unidos Benalmádena app, although those who do not have it or have difficulties using it can register in person at the Silvestre González and Doña Gloria centres, from 09:00 to 14:00. Staff will be available to assist seniors who need help.
Each user can select up to a maximum of three activities, indicating their order of preference. The programme includes workshops on physical maintenance, tai chi, yoga, pilates, crafts, zumba, flamenco, castanets, theatre, computing, mobile device handling, ballroom dancing, and sevillanas, among other proposals.
Robles emphasised that these activities not only contribute to improving the physical and emotional health of seniors but also help combat loneliness, foster personal relationships, and promote active and healthy ageing. "The Town Hall continues to invest in offering a wide and quality programme that allows our seniors to stay active, learn new skills, and enjoy spaces for meeting and socialising," she highlighted.
The provisional publication of the lists of admitted participants will take place on September 10 at each of the centres. Activities will commence on October 5. The councillor concluded by encouraging all seniors in Benalmádena to register and take advantage of "an offer designed to continue improving their quality of life, stay active, and share experiences with other residents of the municipality."
For any questions, interested parties can visit the centres themselves or contact the Department of Elderly Affairs. The Unidos Benalmádena app is available for download on mobile devices and allows for quick and convenient registration.
