The president of the Confederation of Employers of Andalusia calls for public-private collaboration to tackle the housing crisis and rejects the demonisation of companies in the real estate sector.
The president of the Confederation of Employers of Andalusia (CEA), Javier González de Lara, has called this Wednesday in Málaga for private initiative to participate in the design of measures to address the housing crisis. In his opinion, the problem is "so multifaceted and serious" that it cannot be resolved solely from the public sector or from "ideologised positions," as reported by Diario Sur.
González de Lara has criticised the demonisation of companies operating in the real estate market. "The solution to the problems is not to define ourselves as either vulture funds or vulture SMEs. Vulture SMEs do not exist; there are companies that operate in the real estate market and what they are doing is precisely to solve those social problems," he stated.
The leader of the Andalusian employers' association has assured that he cannot assess the decrees approved this Tuesday by the Government of Spain because he is unaware of their content. He has warned that access to housing is "a multifaceted problem" that he attributes to "a supply crisis" and that it is not being resolved "because there are a series of global problems that are not being addressed, perhaps, with the necessary rigor."

The president of the CEA has insisted that there is "a huge deficit" of housing and has advocated for resolving it "not with such ideological vision, but with consensus, putting all parties on the table, listening to each other." He has also lamented that entrepreneurs are "sometimes not consulted" in decisions of this magnitude.
