The Clinical Hospital of Málaga, known as the Virgen de la Victoria university hospital complex, has decorated its facilities for the Málaga Fair 2026. This event aims to provide a small celebration for patients who cannot enjoy the festivities due to their health condition.

Visit from the Mayor and Health Authorities

Among the planned activities, the visit from Málaga's mayor, Francisco de la Torre, stands out, accompanied by several representatives from the Junta de Andalucía, including the Director General of Health Care, Antonio Cansino, and the delegates for Health and for Housing, Youth and Land Planning. This visit is taking place for the fifth consecutive year.

The mayor toured the hospitalisation units of Oncohaematology and Neurology, where he personally greeted patients and their families.

Decoration and Special Activities

This year, the hospital has collaborated with the Andalusian Youth Institute in decorating the hall of the blue courtyard, as well as the Oncology and Neurology floors. Among the ornamental details is a corner dedicated to the fair that displays official posters and an archway created by a retired carpenter patient.

Other decorations, which pay tribute to the rise of Málaga Club de Fútbol, have been made by staff from the Neurology department. During the visit, former player and club ambassador, Jesús Gámez, was also present to accompany the mayor.

The event also includes musical performances, such as that of the Cortijo Alto choir, which entertained the mayor's visit. These actions are part of a Humanisation plan for the hospital, designed so that admitted individuals can enjoy the city's traditions, despite their situation.
