Victorino Martín returns to La Malagueta 12 years later with a complete cinqueño bullfight

The Victorino Martín ranch returns to the Malagueta arena on August 21 with a complete bullfight, a milestone not seen since 2014. Manuel Escribano, Emilio de Justo, and Saúl Jiménez Fortes will handle the bulls.

The Málaga Bullfighting Fair 2026 already has one of its main attractions. The legendary "A coronada" brand will once again make an appearance in La Malagueta with a full bullfight, something that hasn't happened in the Málaga subscription since 2014. The event is set for Friday, August 21.

The Victorino Martín ranch, one of the most legendary in the Spanish bullfighting scene, has announced a bullfight that the arena's management has described as "serious" and "worthy of a first-class venue." The bulls have fine builds, are well-armed at the front, and stand out for their cinqueño base, a hallmark of the house that always generates excitement among fans.

The selected bulls to enter the Malagueta arena are named Bárbaro, Escusano, Bolsista, Planetario, Murallón, and Borracho. A complete bullfight that marks the grand return of a brand that hasn't fought a full bullfight in the capital for over a decade.

The lineup consists of three specialists in this breed, bullfighters with ample experience facing Victorino's cattle. The Sevillian Manuel Escribano, the Extremaduran Emilio de Justo, and the Malagueño Saúl Jiménez Fortes will be the ones to take on these bulls in what is expected to be one of the most demanding afternoons of the summer cycle.

It is worth noting that Jiménez Fortes already had a notable encounter with this ranch in La Malagueta on August 16, 2017, when he soloed a specimen from the house in a feat that is well-remembered by the local fans. Now, the hometown bullfighter crosses paths with the Victorinos again, this time accompanied by two figures in bullfighting who are well aware of the challenges of this breed.
