The Agrupación de Cofradías de Gloria of Málaga presents this Sunday the announcing poster for the Rosario de las Glorias 2026, created by the painter Jesús Medina Cózar. The event will take place at the parish of San Patricio.
The Agrupación de Congregaciones, Hermandades y Cofradías de Gloria de Málaga will present the announcing poster for the Rosario de las Glorias 2026 this Sunday at 13:30, as reported by Diario Sur. The event will be held at the parish of San Patricio, the canonical seat of the Brotherhood of Our Lady of Carmen of Huelin.
The image of the Virgen del Carmen de Huelin, venerated in her old chapel on Calle Las Navas, will preside over this year's external worship of the Málaga liturgical corporations, making the San Patricio temple the chosen setting for the presentation of the new work by the painter Jesús Medina Cózar (Utrera, 1980).
Medina Cózar, who is self-taught after studying History, has developed a pictorial language that moves between impressionism and art nouveau, with a special focus on light, colour, and pure lines. Among his commissions in Andalusia are the poster for the Holy Week of Trebujena, the Eucharistic June of Utrera, and that of the Divine Shepherdess of San Dionisio in Jerez de la Frontera.
In Málaga, the artist has works such as the poster for the Brotherhood of Humility, aleluyas for the Brotherhood of Remedies, the poster for the blessing of grapes and must for the Sacramental of Viñeros, or those made for the extraordinary outing of the Great Forgiveness and, this year, the one for the processional outing of the Prendimiento.
The presentation of the painting will be conducted by Juan Carlos Muñoz, secretary of the Agrupación and press officer of the entity. The event will also feature the performance of the band of music Nuestra Señora de la Soledad, from the Congregation of Mena, which is debuting its association with the Agrupación de Gloria this year.
This event marks the beginning of the journey towards the celebration of the Rosario de las Glorias, which will take place next October. It will be the return of the Carmelite figure to this external worship, having presided over the rosary in 2013.
The Rosario de las Glorias of 2026 comes with novelties: the recitation of the mysteries and the subsequent procession will move from the traditional Sunday morning to the afternoon of the third Saturday of October, which this year will be the 17th. This change responds to the Agrupación's desire to encourage the participation of brothers, faithful, and devotees in one of the main events of the Málaga liturgical calendar.
