Hours remain until the Real del Cortijo de Torres opens its doors. The venue features more toilets, updates in the Explanada de la Juventud, and the return of the virtual assistant 'Tu ferIA'.
The countdown has begun at the Real del Cortijo de Torres. With just a few hours left until the inauguration of the Málaga Fair 2026, workers are racing against the clock to get everything ready: electricians, builders, painters, and delivery personnel are busy at the fairground, which will once again shine with over 2.3 million light points.
The councillor for Operational Services, Internal Regime, Beaches and Festivals, Teresa Porras, has detailed the main innovations for this year. Among them, more public toilets and a reconfiguration of the Explanada de la Juventud, the contents of which have been explained by the Youth councillor, Mercedes Martín. The virtual assistant 'Tu ferIA' has also been presented, returning in collaboration with InternalIA Group.
The lighting switch-on is scheduled for Wednesday, when tests will be conducted on the lighting of the booths. According to Porras, the assembly work is progressing faster this year, which will allow everything to be ready for the official opening on August 15.
A historic entrance with 145,000 LED points
The entrance of the Real maintains the model from 2025: a replica of the historic 'El Quiosco del Embarcadero de la Reina', dating back to 1862 and built to welcome Isabel II. It will feature up to 145,000 LED points, as well as 'Ecogreenlux' curtains, a patented system by Ximenez Group, the company responsible for illuminating the entire venue.
The decorative lighting is one of the most carefully considered elements of this edition. In addition to the 2.3 million light points, new decorations have been added in various streets of the venue, contributing to the effort to present a renewed image to the thousands of visitors expected during the fair week.
117 booths and over 200 performances
The Real Cortijo de Torres will once again deploy a wide map with 117 booths, maintaining its family-friendly character and an offer that will extend throughout the day. Among the municipal spaces are the Flamenco and Copla Booth and the Verdiales Booth, as well as the concert programme at the Municipal Auditorium, with over 200 performances planned.
Councillor Teresa Porras has highlighted that the venue will feature more public toilets than in previous editions, a long-standing demand from fairgoers and visitors. The Explanada de la Juventud, for its part, debuts new programming and spaces, with activities designed for younger audiences throughout the week.
The virtual assistant 'Tu ferIA' is once again operational via WhatsApp at the number 622 25 60 08. Through this channel, attendees can resolve queries about schedules, booths, concerts, or how to get to the venue, in a bid to enhance the visitor experience with the help of artificial intelligence.
The Málaga Fair 2026 will officially kick off on August 15 and will last for a week. The Real will open its doors daily from noon until dawn, with free entry and a programme designed for all audiences.
