The Municipal Housing Institute of Málaga has approved its public job offer for 2026, with a total of 12 positions. Six of these will be filled through open competition and the other six through internal promotion.

The Municipal Housing, Rehabilitation and Urban Regeneration Institute (IMV) of the Málaga City Council has approved its public job offer for the year 2026. The resolution, signed by the president of the organisation, includes a total of 12 positions, equally divided between open competition and internal promotion. Candidates seeking a stable position in local administration now have a clear horizon: legal, technical and economic profiles are the most in demand.

Open competition positions: very varied profiles

In the open competition category, six positions are offered. The first is for a Law Graduate, assigned to the General Administration Scale, Technical subscale, group A1. An Architect is also sought, in this case within the Special Administration, also group A1. The third position is for a Graduate in Economic Sciences, with the same group and subscale as Law.

Additionally, two positions for Technical Architect are offered, group A2, also in the Special Administration Scale. Finally, there is one position for a Specialist IT Technician or similar, group C1, reserved for the disability quota. This last position is an opportunity for people with disabilities who wish to access a permanent position in local administration.

Internal promotion: six positions for IMV employees

The offer also reserves six positions for internal promotion, aimed at employees already working at the IMV who wish to advance. Two positions for Graduates in Economic Sciences are called as labour personnel, Senior Technician. Another two positions for Senior Engineers, also as labour personnel of Senior Grade. And finally, two positions for Administrative Staff, likewise as labour personnel.

The resolution has already been made public and interested parties can consult the details in the Official Bulletin of the Province or on the IMV's electronic headquarters. The deadline for submitting appeals is one month from the day after publication, while the contentious-administrative appeal can be filed within two months.

What does this offer mean for the residents of Málaga?

For the citizens of Málaga, this public job offer represents an injection of qualified personnel in a key area such as housing. The IMV manages everything from the promotion of protected housing to the rehabilitation of buildings and urban regeneration. Having more architects, legal experts, and IT technicians can expedite procedures and improve public service at a time when the demand for affordable housing is high.

Moreover, the commitment to internal promotion demonstrates that the IMV seeks to retain and motivate its staff, which often translates into better management of public resources. Residents waiting for rental assistance or protected housing may notice positive effects in the medium term.

The call for these positions is part of the annual planning of the City Council, which usually publishes its job offers at the beginning of the year. Interested parties should keep an eye on the specific bases of each selection process, which will be published soon in the Official Bulletin of the Province of Málaga and on the IMV's website.
