The Civil Guard and the Tax Agency have carried out an important operation in Seville, where 1,283 kilos of cocaine hidden in a shipment of coconuts were intercepted. The stash was located in a container that was about to be delivered.
The operation culminated on September 8, 2026, when agents arrested two individuals involved in the alleged crime of drug trafficking. The investigation had begun in December of the previous year, upon detecting a company in Dos Hermanas that appeared to be linked to drug trafficking.
Investigators identified a suspicious shipping container, which led to the establishment of a surveillance operation. Ultimately, the operation was executed during the delivery of the goods in a warehouse, where both the drugs and cash as well as high-value electronic devices were seized.
The cocaine was found at the bottom of the pallets, hidden in the back of the truck trailer transporting the coconuts. This action has prevented the distribution of a significant amount of drugs and represents a severe blow against drug trafficking organizations in the region.
Although this interception has been achieved, the investigation remains open and further arrests are not ruled out. This operation is part of the ongoing collaboration between different bodies and units in the fight against drug trafficking, coordinated by the Operational Unit of the Customs Surveillance Service in Seville, the Fiscal Analysis and Investigation Unit of the Civil Guard at the Port of Seville, and the EDOA group of the Civil Guard.
