Mahou San Miguel has installed the awnings of Calle Marqués de Larios, announcing the imminent Málaga Fair 2026. The company has renewed its sponsorship until 2029.
The councillor for Operational Services, Beaches and Festivals of the Málaga City Council, Teresa Porras, supervised the installation of the awnings covering Calle Marqués de Larios on Wednesday. The installation, carried out by the brewery Mahou San Miguel, marks the start of the countdown to the Málaga Fair 2026, which will take place in August.
During the tour, Porras was accompanied by Susana Vargas, Head of Institutional Relations at Mahou San Miguel, and Miguel de Hoyos, Head of Local Marketing for the company. The three checked the result of an infrastructure that has become one of the great icons of Málaga's summer.
The installation of the awnings coincides with the renewal of the collaboration agreement between the City Council and Mahou San Miguel, which has committed to sponsor the Fair for the next four editions, until 2029. The agreement includes the design, installation and maintenance of the awnings on Calle Larios and Plaza de la Constitución, as well as support for the artistic programming of the Municipal Auditorium Cortijo de Torres and the drone and fireworks shows.
This year, in addition, San Miguel celebrates its 60th anniversary brewing beer in Málaga. To commemorate it, the brand has launched the initiative "60 years of Feeling Málaga," which includes a festival of music, gastronomy and urban art, a mural by the Málaga illustrator Bosska, and a special edition of its beer inspired by the Pilsener Cristal bottle from 1966, distributed exclusively in the province.
The Málaga Fair 2026 will officially kick off on Friday, August 14, with the opening speech and the lighting of the Fair's entrance arch at the Cortijo de Torres. The awnings of Calle Larios, with their characteristic colours, will remain until the end of the festivities on August 22.
