The Royal Merged Brotherhoods have commissioned Salvador Oliver's workshop to embroider the horn panels of Tears and Favours, according to a design by José Miguel Moreno from 2010. The insignias will debut in 2028.
The workshop of Salvador Oliver will carry out the embroidery of the horn panels for the Tears and Favours section of the Royal Merged Brotherhoods, as reported by the corporation. The work will follow the design created by José Miguel Moreno 16 years ago, in 2010, which was pending due to the development of other heritage projects for the Virgin.
The four insignias, made in 2010 by the goldsmith workshop of Santos Campanario, currently feature plain green velvet panels that close the Nazarene procession. This intervention will complete the embroideries that were planned from the outset.
The design of the panels follows the stylistic keys of the mantle of the Dolorosa, also designed by Moreno, and incorporates identifying elements of the corporation such as the Malta Cross and the Ave Maria emblem in the centre. The artist, a key figure in the contemporary aesthetic configuration of the Merged Brotherhoods, has also designed the throne, the canopy, and the mantle of the image.
According to Diario Sur, the execution period will be two years, meaning the horns will be unveiled already embroidered on Palm Sunday in 2028.
