The delegate of the Andalusian Government in Málaga, Patricia Navarro, has highlighted the remarkable growth of the export sector in the province. During her visit to the Málaga Chamber of Commerce, Navarro reported that in the first seven months of 2026, exports reached a value of €2.235 billion, representing an increase of 12.9% compared to the same period last year.
Significant growth compared to other provinces
This increase makes Málaga the Andalusian province with the highest growth in exports. Almería, Huelva, and Córdoba follow, with increases of 11.1%, 6.5%, and 7.2% respectively. In total, exports from Andalusia reached a figure of €25.698 billion, growing by 4.7% compared to the previous year, a figure that also doubles the national increase, which was 2.2%.
Navarro emphasized that these figures demonstrate Málaga's ability to generate employment and wealth through the internationalization of its products. The delegate highlighted the importance of the Málaga business fabric, which seeks to innovate and open up to new markets.
Support for business internationalization
The Andalusian Government continues to promote support for companies seeking greater international presence. Patricia Navarro stated that it is essential to continue creating a favourable environment for businesses to grow and generate opportunities. She also acknowledged the efforts of workers and families contributing to business progress.
The president of the Chamber of Commerce, José Carlos Escribano, indicated that it is essential to diversify and expand the international presence of Málaga's companies, encouraging collaboration between institutions to facilitate resources that support this growth.
Regarding the most exported products, they include fruits and edible nuts, fats and oils, and metal ores. Additionally, other sectors such as essential oils and electrical products have seen significant growth.
Navarro also mentioned that Málaga exports to 174 countries, with Europe as the main destination, accounting for 79.2% of exports. Italy, Portugal, and France are the main receiving markets, although trade relations with America and Asia are also being strengthened.
To facilitate this process, the Andalusian Government has launched a new call for incentives for foreign trade and internationalization, with a budget of €11.5 million, which will benefit more than 2,000 companies. Furthermore, it was announced that the next Andalucía TRADE Global 2026 event will be held in November, where participation from companies worldwide is expected.
