Málaga residents will spend an average of €76.63 at the August Fair, according to the Consumers' Union. This figure is down from €89 last year and matches that of 2024.
The Consumers' Union of Málaga (UCE) estimates that each Málaga resident will spend an average of €76.63 during the August Fair in 2026. This figure represents a decrease of more than €12 compared to the €89 expected last year and aligns with the €76 of 2024.
The study conducted by the association shows that the bus will be the preferred mode of transport to the Real Cortijo de Torres. 55.8% of respondents will choose it, followed by those who will walk (due to the proximity of their homes) at 16.3%, with 14% opting for the car and 14% for the taxi.
Not all Málaga residents will attend the event: 9.3% will not attend any day, while 32.6% will only go for one day. The most frequent attendees are those who go for two or three days (44.2%) and those who exceed four days (23.3%), split between the Real Cortijo de Torres and the daytime fair in the Centre.
The Real Cortijo de Torres is consolidating as the favourite venue both day and night. However, the UCE detects a growing discontent with the daytime fair in the Centre, although the overall assessment of the festival remains positive.
Another point of friction is the information: until August 5, only the poster and the announcer, Juan Francisco Funes, coach of Málaga CF, were known. The association believes that this delay complicates the organisation for those with less availability or who live in more remote and poorly connected areas.
Spending will once again focus on food and drink, followed by children's attractions and transport. Prices continue to rise and generate discontent, while security and healthcare receive positive feedback.
The Fair also acts as a job engine, with positions in catering, marketing, photography, public relations, and sound and lighting technicians, among other profiles.
The UCE recommends planning the budget in advance, respecting safety regulations, and consuming responsibly during the festive days.
