The capital celebrates the solemnity of the Patroness with a seasonal mass, offering, and procession. The new brotherhood year begins with besamanos, triduum, and proclamations.
The city of Málaga is approaching the final stretch of the worship in honour of the Virgin of Victory, Patroness of the capital and the diocese. The novena, which began on the last Sunday of August at the Cathedral, will continue until Monday, September 7, as reported by Diario Sur.
On Tuesday, September 8, the feast of the Nativity of the Virgin, the solemnity of Santa María de la Victoria will be celebrated. The day will start with a parade, followed by the seasonal mass officiated by Bishop José Antonio Satué and the floral offering from the La Coracha association. The image will set off in a procession of praise at 19:30 hours from the cathedral temple and will return to its sanctuary at midnight.
The brotherhood agenda for the week also includes the besamanos to the Virgin of Consolation and Tears, from the Archconfraternity of the Blood, which will be displayed on Friday at the parish of San Felipe Neri from 19:00 to 21:00 hours. On Saturday, there will be a solemn liturgical celebration and the dolorosa will be available for veneration from 17:30 to 21:00 hours.
The parish group of the Holy Angel will celebrate the triduum to the Virgin in her Consolation and Salvation starting Thursday at the parish of the Holy Guardian Angel. On Sunday, the image will be exposed for besamanos at 11:30 hours.
The calendar also includes other notable events. On Saturday, the parish of Our Lady of Sorrows will host the proclamation and presentation of the poster for the festivities of the Virgin of the Rosary, Patroness of the El Palo neighbourhood, at 21:15 hours, presented by the communicator from Canal Málaga Francis Márquez. The painting is the work of Alejandro Martín Caballero and is presented by José López Cano.
On the same day, the Brotherhood of Viñeros will hold a charity fair in the Plaza de los Viñeros from 13:00 to 22:00 hours, as part of the 50th anniversary of the Lord. The Gloria Group will present the poster for the Rosary of the Glories 2026, created by Jesús Medina Cózar, on Sunday at 13:30 hours at San Patricio.
