EUROGENDFOR reveals its operational report
On 18 October 2026, the European police force EUROGENDFOR commemorated its day by unveiling a report on its operational deployments. This organisation has included the participation of the Civil Guard, which ranks as the second largest historical contributor with 578 personnel over 19 years of activity.
Since its inception, EUROGENDFOR has carried out a total of 25 international missions across various continents, with a total of 3,074 gendarmes deployed. This information encompasses interventions from the first deployment in November 2007 until 1 October 2026.
Commitment of the Civil Guard to international security
The Civil Guard, as a founding member of EUROGENDFOR, has contributed 18.8% of all deployed personnel, demonstrating Spain's commitment to international stability and security. Currently, EUROGENDFOR has nine active operations in different regions, including Bosnia, Ukraine, and Somalia.
EUROGENDFOR is a key component in the framework of cooperation among EU countries, the United Nations, and NATO, enabling crisis management where conventional civil police cannot operate and where armed forces are not the appropriate solution.
The current group consists of eight active member states and one partner, along with several observations from other countries. With the recent inclusion of Finland and Lithuania, EUROGENDFOR is in a phase of expansion and consolidation in its twentieth year of operation.
