The Hermandad del Dulce Nombre holds a fair this Saturday in Capuchinos square to raise funds for the construction of its new brotherhood house on Diego de Siloé street.
The Hermandad del Dulce Nombre will celebrate a fair this Saturday in the plaza de Capuchinos with the aim of raising funds for the construction of its future brotherhood house. The event will kick off at 1 PM and will last throughout the day, according to Diario Sur.
The programme includes live musical performances and a bar with affordable prices set up by the brotherhood itself. It will feature the dance academy Duende Gitano, followed by performances from Rosa María Porras, Ainara López, Sara Ojeda, and Lucía Morales.
At 6 PM, it will be the turn of Concha Carpena, while the group Por Derecho will perform at 9 PM. The day will conclude with a session by Dj Danny Walls.
The brotherhood has called for participation from its members and anyone who wishes to support the project. For more information or to offer assistance, the brotherhood has provided the phone number 653 811 339.
The proceeds from this fair will go towards one of the main future projects of the Nazarene entity of the Divina Pastora and Santa Teresa de Jesús temple: the construction of a new brotherhood house that will allow the procession of its thrones from inside.
The Hermandad del Dulce Nombre is currently the only grouped brotherhood of Holy Week in Málaga that sets up a structure to accommodate its thrones, due to the impossibility of them starting their route from inside the Capuchin church because of the size of its door.
The future brotherhood house will be built on a plot granted by the Ayuntamiento de Málaga on Diego de Siloé street, next to the social headquarters of the Hermandad de la Crucifixión. The project has had municipal building permission since 2020, although work has not yet begun.
The design is by architect Ángel Gómez del Valle, a member of the brotherhood's governing board. The planning includes a first phase with the throne hall and a first floor dedicated to various offices of the brotherhood, while a second phase would complete the building with a second floor and a terrace.
According to initial forecasts, Domingo de Ramos 2028 could be the first time the Hermandad del Dulce Nombre processes from its new brotherhood house, as the estimated time for the completion of the first phase is approximately one year.
