Civil Guard Operation SHOWTIME in Málaga

The Civil Guard has carried out a significant operation in Málaga and other cities, resulting in the arrest of 20 individuals and the execution of 23 searches in Barcelona, Lleida, Madrid, and Alicante.

The operation, named SHOWTIME, was the result of an investigation initiated in May 2025, which uncovered a criminal organization dedicated to the distribution of cocaine. A total of nearly 52 kilos of cocaine, 2.8 kilograms of methamphetamine, and 1.8 kilos of MDMA were seized, along with 409,275 euros in cash.

Structure and operations of the organization

The investigation revealed that members of the organization had defined roles within it. The alleged leader was responsible for setting prices, controlling deliveries, and managing payments for new shipments. The organization primarily operated as a wholesale supplier, distributing packaged one-kilo parcels.

The Civil Guard identified the supply connection with the Community of Madrid, where drug supplies were sourced. Additionally, vehicles with hidden compartments were used for transporting the substances.

Five storage facilities for safeguarding the drugs were found in the province of Barcelona, and a storage unit in Lleida contained significant amounts of cocaine and cash. Materials used in the weighing, splitting, and packaging of the drugs were also discovered.

The organization employed sophisticated methods to conceal the substances and money, including hidden compartments and surveillance at the access points to the properties.

The detainees face serious charges, including crimes against public health and membership in a criminal organization. The leader will face additional charges for money laundering.

The proceedings of the case are being handled by the Instruction Section of the Court of First Instance of L'Hospitalet de Llobregat.
