The Málaga City Council will construct a complex of over 2,500 square metres on Maese Nicolás street to relocate the Ciudad Jardín district headquarters. It will include a multipurpose auditorium and a citizen service office with four service points.
The Ciudad Jardín district will leave its current headquarters on Alcalde Nicolás Maroto street to occupy a newly built building on Maese Nicolás street. The Municipal Urban Planning Management approved the drafting of the execution project this Monday, as reported by Diario Sur. The budget exceeds four million euros and the works will be put out to tender in the coming months, with an execution period of 15 months from the contract signing.
The complex will feature over 2,500 square metres of built space and will be organised into two independent volumes connected by a landscaped exterior courtyard in an L-shape open to the street. This space will serve as a freely accessible plaza for both the offices and the auditorium, according to the municipal file.
The ground floor of the main building will house the Municipal Citizen Service Office (OMAC), with four personalised service points to expedite procedures, applications, and management. It will also include a multipurpose auditorium with its own access, a long-standing demand of the neighbourhood, which will allow for community meetings, conferences, and cultural activities without interfering with administrative hours.
The upper floors will be reserved for the district councillor's offices, the management office, and municipal technicians, as well as a meeting room, archive, and rest areas. The second building, which is a single storey, will be designated for Operational Services, featuring a warehouse, loading and unloading dock, changing rooms, and management offices to improve the maintenance of the streets in Ciudad Jardín.
The project includes an underground car park with 25 spaces and room for technical areas, as well as the planting of new trees along the exterior pavement of Maese Nicolás street to integrate the work into the environment.
