Laura Matamoros joins as a collaborator on the new magazine show 'De lunes a viernes' which will be presented by Santi Acosta and Beatriz Archidona in the afternoons on Telecinco starting from July 6.
Laura Matamoros has become the new signing for Telecinco for the afternoon slot. The daughter of Kiko Matamoros joins as a collaborator on the magazine 'De lunes a viernes', the new programme that will be presented by Santi Acosta and Beatriz Archidona starting next Monday, July 6, at 18:15 hours. The information has been confirmed by sources from the channel to Informalia.
Matamoros arrives at the Mediaset channel after having participated as a guest on 'Espejo público' (Antena 3) in recent months. Previously, the influencer had also collaborated on other shows such as 'Vamos a ver'. In her new phase at Telecinco, she will coincide with Rocío Flores, whose signing was already announced by this medium last May.
The new programme, produced by Mandarina, will occupy the slot currently held by 'El Diario de Jorge', whose broadcasts end this Friday. However, the expectation is that the space presented by Jorge Javier Vázquez will return in September. 'De lunes a viernes' is the daily version of the programme that Acosta and Archidona host weekly in prime time, 'De viernes', which has established itself as one of the most stable formats on the channel despite competing with 'Tu cara me suena'.
The regular team of collaborators from 'De viernes' will also be present in the new daily phase. Names such as Lydia Lozano, Terelu Campos, Ángela Portero, José Antonio León, and Antonio Rossi will return in the afternoons. They are joined by Rosa Benito, Maica Benedito, Sebastián Gallego, and now, Laura Matamoros.
This premiere is part of the profound restructuring that Telecinco is carrying out in its afternoon slot. In recent weeks, the channel has launched several formats to try to revitalise the afternoons. Last Monday, 'El verano se mueve', an entertainment programme, premiered. The previous weekend saw the launch of 'El show de Paz', with Paz Padilla. And last week, 'Amor o lo que surja', a dating show, began airing, which, according to audience data, is struggling to connect with viewers during the afternoon slot.
With 'De lunes a viernes', Telecinco completes its summer testing ground for the afternoons. The channel seeks to establish a solid offering that can compete with the established 'TardeAR' from Telecinco (although this airs in a different slot) and with the offerings from Antena 3. The daily format from Acosta and Archidona focuses on current affairs in the world of celebrity and entertainment, a vein that the channel successfully exploits in prime time.
The first programme will air on Monday, July 6, at 18:15 hours. It is expected that the regular collaborators will be present from day one, although the channel may introduce new faces throughout the summer. Laura Matamoros, for her part, has expressed her excitement on social media, although she has not officially confirmed the signing.
Matamoros' arrival at Telecinco represents a boost for the programme, which aims to attract a young audience loyal to reality shows. The influencer, with thousands of followers on Instagram, brings a digital profile that the channel wants to enhance. Additionally, her relationship with Rocío Flores, daughter of Rocío Carrasco, could generate moments of television tension, as both have appeared on other sets and maintain a cordial but distant relationship.
The new magazine will air Monday to Friday from 18:15 to 20:00 hours, occupying the time slot left by 'El Diario de Jorge'. Viewers will be able to follow the programme live on Telecinco and later on the Mitele platform.
