The town of Córdoba has been the setting for the presentation of the AWA project (Web Reports of Andalucía) by the Junta of Andalucía. The initiative aims for the comprehensive management of proceedings and police reports from Local Police through a web application.

The first vice president and councillor for the Presidency, Health and Emergencies, Antonio Sanz, explained that this platform will allow for greater coordination and efficiency in the procedures of the Andalusian Local Police. Sanz emphasised that the project represents a commitment from the regional government to modernise the police forces.

Objectives and benefits of the AWA platform

AWA has been designed to unify the drafting of reports related to traffic accidents, gender violence and other criminal actions. This will facilitate coordination between different administrations and agencies involved, enabling more efficient management of documentation.

According to Sanz, the project aims to achieve a more homogeneous and efficient management of over 500 police bodies and around 11,000 agents in the community, with special emphasis on municipalities with fewer resources.

Driving digital transformation

This tool not only seeks to improve the operational efficiency of Local Police but also hopes to extend technological innovation to all Andalusian municipalities. AWA will allow for more agile communication with agencies related to security and justice, leading to faster processes and more reliable information.

Antonio Sanz argued that technology must be an ally in improving public services. He stated that AWA will assist agents in their daily work, thereby strengthening Local Police in the face of current and future challenges.

The councillor also mentioned that other initiatives are being carried out to modernise Local Police, such as the recent Local Police Law of Andalucía and a new decree on uniformity and technical means. Additionally, he highlighted the installation of the first mobile shooting gallery in Spain to train Local Police agents.

Antonio Sanz concluded by acknowledging the daily efforts of the members of the Andalusian Local Police, highlighting their crucial role in the security and well-being of citizens. The AWA platform positions itself as an essential resource for improving public safety in Andalucía.
