The Town Hall of Rincón de la Victoria and Intergenerational Solidarity open the registration period on 9 September for a free 100-hour course with a diploma, aimed at the care of the elderly and dependents.
The Department of Training and Employment of the Town Hall of Rincón de la Victoria and the association Intergenerational Solidarity have launched a free Personal Assistant and Person-Centred Care (PCC) course. The training, consisting of 100 hours of in-person classes, will award a certificate and is aimed at those who want to work in the care of elderly, dependent, or disabled individuals.
Registrations open on Wednesday 9 September via the phone 639 854 835 or by email at formacion@rincondelavictoria.es. On the same day, starting at 10:30 hours, the Cultural Association Estrella del Alba, in La Cala del Moral, will host an information session where registration can also be formalised.
The Councillor for Training and Employment, Nacho Cuadra, stated that "this training will provide tools and knowledge that can be applied both in home settings and in social centres and institutions, also contributing to improving the quality of care received by dependent individuals."
“Offering citizens new training opportunities that contribute to improving their access to the labour market, especially in sectors that have a growing demand for professionals, such as assistance services and the care of dependent individuals,” highlighted the mayor, Francisco Salado.
The course will run from 14 September to 11 November, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 09:30 to 13:30 hours, at the headquarters of the Cultural Association Estrella del Alba in La Cala del Moral.
The training is especially designed for individuals without prior qualifications in the sector, although those already working in it and wishing to improve their performance can also participate. The content includes fundamentals of independent living, the role of the personal assistant, prevention and support products, stimulation of dependent individuals, social interaction, and first aid.
The initiative is funded by the Ministry of Social Rights, Consumption and Agenda 2030 and the Department of Social Inclusion, Youth, Families and Equality of the Junta de Andalucía, with the collaboration of COAG and the Town Hall of Rincón de la Victoria. The training is provided by Intergenerational Solidarity, a non-profit national association that works for the quality of life of elderly individuals.
