The Town Hall of Rincón de la Victoria has launched a free Lifeguard course in which more than ten unemployed young people from the municipality are participating, lasting 210 hours and including internships in companies.
The course, held at the Municipal Youth Centre of Torre de Benagalbón, offers a unique opportunity for the young people of Rincón de la Victoria who are looking to train in a sector with high job demand. The initiative, framed within the European project EnRuta, is co-financed by the European Union and the Málaga Provincial Council.
Theoretical training and professional internships
The training sessions take place from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, and combine theoretical content with internships in collaborating companies. Participants will receive an official certification upon completion of the course, scheduled for September 11.
The Councillor for Training and Employment, Nacho Cuadra, highlighted during the inauguration that this free training has an “interesting job projection” and allows young people to obtain an official accreditation. For her part, the delegate for Employment, Mª Carmen Márquez, noted that the EnRuta project has designed pathways adapted to the needs of each territory, promoting equality of opportunities.
Municipal support for employability
The Mayor of Rincón de la Victoria, Francisco Salado, emphasized the Town Hall's commitment to improving the employability of residents. “These quality training actions, which combine professional training and internships in companies, facilitate access to the job market,” he stated.
The course is aimed at unemployed individuals and has a total budget of €7,002,964.96, 85% of which is funded by the European Social Fund Plus. The initiative prioritizes sectors with higher job demand, such as lifeguarding, which offers opportunities on beaches, in pools, and in sports centres.
The young people from Rincón de la Victoria participating in this edition will have the chance to acquire essential skills to save lives and, in the process, improve their resumes. The course includes rescue techniques, first aid, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation, among other content.
For those interested in future editions, the Town Hall recommends keeping an eye on upcoming calls for the EnRuta project, which plans new training actions in the coming months. For now, the participants of this course have already begun training with their sights set on the job market.
