The Rincón de la Victoria Town Hall will close the Food Guarantee Camp on 31 August, which has provided three daily meals to 63 minors aged 3 to 12 during July and August.
The Food Guarantee Camp organised by the Social Welfare Area of the Rincón de la Victoria Town Hall will conclude on 31 August with a festive day for the participants. For nine weeks, since 1 July, a total of 63 minors aged between 3 and 12 years have received three daily meals at the facilities of CEIP Profesor Tierno Galván.
The programme is aimed at children registered in the municipality who are beneficiaries of the Child and Primary Food Reinforcement Programme (PRAI). The initiative is free and includes breakfast, lunch, picnic-snack, and bus transport, as well as morning classes from 7:00 to 9:00 and afternoon care from 15:00 to 16:00 hours.
The Councillor for Social Welfare, Belén Gutiérrez, has pointed out that this camp is the most in-demand of those held during non-school periods of the year, such as White Week, Holy Week, and Christmas. She also reminded that it is one of the few that includes a dining service.
“This summer camp is the most requested of all the ones we run throughout the year in Rincón de la Victoria during the different non-school periods,” Gutiérrez explained.
The mayor, Francisco Salado, has praised the positive reception of the programme and its role as a social resource for families. He indicated that, in addition to ensuring child nutrition, it contributes to work-life balance during school holidays.
“It represents an important social resource for families, supporting child food care, as well as contributing to the reconciliation of work and family life during the summer months,” Salado stated.
The closing day on 31 August will be a party for the minors, as the councillor has announced. The camp combines food with recreational and leisure activities adapted to each age, offering a space for coexistence and learning during the summer.
